The School Energy Coalition (SEC) was formed in February 2011 out of the need to provide schools and
businesses that support schools with the tools to provide pathways to real dollars for school projects,
along with technical assistance and training for schools that will ensure that these projects will provide
the savings promised and maximum system efficiency.
SEC recognizes that schools must have a voice as the State and Legislature move forward with legislation
and other regulatory actions being considered by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), the
California Energy Commission (CEC), and the Air Resources Board (ARB).
Our membership consists of school districts (large and small), community colleges and businesses who
specialize in energy efficiency and advocacy. Membership provides the access to legislative information
and networking with other schools and advocates seeking to learn more about the "green" arena.
